Endometriosis is a chronic and often misunderstood medical condition that affects millions of women worldwide. Despite its prevalence, many people are unaware of the extent to which endometriosis can disrupt a person's life, from their physical health to their personal relationships and professional endeavours. Here I wanted to recap what endometriosis is and the common symptoms, but to specifically discuss the profound impact it has on quality of life, and shed light on its effects in the workplace. What is Endometriosis? Endometriosis is a condition in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus, known as the endometrium, grows outside the uterus. This displaced tissue can be found on the ovaries, fallopian tubes, pelvic lining, and even distant organs like the bladder or intestines.
